First off, it’s good to be back live on air, if only for this or another show or two before I continue to take care of my health through some challenging times. I’m so grateful for all the support, kindness, and encouragement I’ve received and can’t thank each and every one of you enough. And to those who wrote me during my absence on air asking if I’m dead, hopefully by this show you’ll trust me when I say no, I’m still alive.
These experiences I’ve been going through, though, have made me reflect on how important an attitude of gratitude and showing appreciation are. When we’re going through challenging times, as individuals and as a nation, it’s important to show appreciation and support for those around us. Gratitude and appreciation should be practiced all year round, and especially during times of uncertainty.
Make it a habit to be thankful and grateful for someone or something in your life each and every day. And remember to also give back and encourage others to do likewise, for the act of giving back brings not only comfort, but brings us together and builds community.
As we face these crazy, uncertain times as individuals and as a nation, it’s important to take it to the human level and put a strong emphasis on kindness and compassion. Kindness and compassion help us heal and reconnect, and we are in dire need of both as individuals and as a nation! I can’t speak for you, but I’m dismayed by the outright meanspiritedness and cruelty being displayed these days just about everywhere, and it seems as though kindness and compassion are becoming forgotten concepts.
But kindness and compassion are vital for our health and well-being, especially during the times we’re living in. We need to remember that beneath our harried and distracted lives, kindness and compassion are at the heart of our being. Be proactive! Kindness and compassion are love in action. The power of love has and will always have the power to change your life for the better, and once you change within, the whole world changes with you. Isn’t it about time we all recognize the power of love?
