With recent debt-limit negotiations highlighting the political and social polarization ongoing in America and the federal government alarmingly close to failure, will reforms happen in time to save The Third Republic or segue into the next Fourth Republic, or will America face the possibility of another civil war or, even worse, become vulnerable to a despotic tyrant and regime?
