Hour 1 – Dr. Bernard Beitman, MD, Connecting with Coincidence
Joining the show during Hour One is the first scientist since Carl Jung to attempt to systematize the study of coincidences, Dr. Bernard Beitman, MD. Dr. Beitman will be discussing his compelling new book Connecting with Coincidence: The New Science for Using Synchronicity and Serendipity in Your Life.
We’ve all had those “goose-bump” moments in our lives, when much-needed money suddenly appears out of nowhere, a fluke of an idea turns into a life-changing solution, or we bump into our long-lost friend or soulmate on a flight we rescheduled on a whim. But what if we could not only increase the frequency of these events, but harness their power so they are not just delightful dinnertime tales, but catalysts that enrich our lives and catapult us from our current course? The answer is we can!
Bernard Beitman, MD, a leading expert in the field of Coincidence Studies, reveals that each of us possesses a greater personal power over synchronicity and serendipity than we may realize. From analyzing emerging research, as well as true accounts from around the globe and throughout history, Dr. Beitman explains the key personality traits and situational factors that contribute to meaningful coincidences, how to best use them, and what they reveal about our own hidden abilities.
In our busy lives, it’s easy to lose sight of these fleeting moments, but Dr. Beitman provides an irresistible nudge to show you how to notice them, use them to your advantage, and put them into practice to bring more “luck” into your life.
Bernard D. Beitman, M.D. went to Yale Medical School and did his psychiatric residency at Stanford. He is visiting professor at the University of Virginia in the Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences and is the former Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has edited two issues of Psychiatric Annals that focus on coincidences, authored the book Connecting with Coincidence, and is founder of the new interdisciplinary field of Coincidence Studies.

Hour 2 – Richard Estep, The World’s Most Haunted Hospitals
Joining the show during the second hour is author and paranormal investigator Richard Estep. Richard will be discussing his book, The World’s Most Haunted Hospitals: True Life Paranormal Encounters in Asylums, Hospitals, and Institutions.
Hospitals–they’re the nexus point between life and death, where people both enter and exit life. If hospital walls could talk, what tales would they tell?
In The World’s Most Haunted Hospitals: True-Life Paranormal Encounters in Asylums, Hospitals, and Institutions, paramedic and paranormal investigator, Richard Estep, researches and recounts chilling stories of hospital hauntings around the world.
Richard will discuss some of the cases from his book, including the myriad of hauntings that occur at an old Utah hospital, now a nursing home; the terrifying screams and violent scenes that scare visitors away from an abandoned airbase in the Phillipines; and a sanitarium where thousands of patients died. In addition, Richard will discuss his own experiences in researching the paranormal.
An expert in ghosts, the paranormal, and emergency medicine, Richard Estep is a popular author, convention speaker, and media guest. He’s the Co-Founder and Director of the Boulder County Paranormal Research Society, a major organization involved in investigating claims of haunted properties, people, and objects on both sides of the Atlantic.
