March 12, 2011 Show Archives/Podcasts Hour 1 – Hour 2
Dr. Stephen Rorke joins Amerika Now for the first two hours to discuss the enduring Spiricom mystery. Dr. Rorke has undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees and has lectured on developmental psychology, cognition, theoretical and applied physics, and EVP (electronic voice phenomena) as a subset of ITC (Instrumental Trans-Communication) with potential implications for the theoretical physics community regarding the existence of multiple dimensions beyond the standard model. His recent studies include the application of information theory, persuasion theory and certain aspects of psychology to the paranormal, i.e, ‘paramemetics,’ Dr. Rorke’s psychobiological explanation for the creation of a paranormal ethos, the spread and adoption of fringe ideas called ‘para-memes’ bringing information theory and neuroscience to bear upon the paranormal in an interdisciplinary manner. Dr. Rorke presents best-evidence standards in paranormal research, and leads the way with his conclusive investigation into the Spiricom case. He has advocated for nearly a decade that “the role of science should be to investigate the unexplained, not explain the uninvestigated.”
Popularized as “the most convincing evidence of two-way communication with the dead,” Spiricom was a device that incorporated a radio transmitter/receiver with 13 audio oscillators that approximated the tonal range of an adult male voice. Built in 1980 by George W. Meek, the Spiricom was operated by William O’Neil who allegedly contacted the spirit of George Mueller, a deceased NASA employee. Dr. Rorke found inconsistencies in the Spiricom story and evidence that O’Neil had ventriloquist skills, and may have used them to create a second voice by manipulating an electric larynx. Dr. Rorke’s investigation into Spiricom and many other cases has led to his being a frequent, popular guest on Coast to Coast AM.

Show Archives/Podcasts Hour 3 – Hour 4
Joining Amerika Now during hours 3 and 4 is David Rountree, Director of Scientific Paranormal Investigative Research Information and Technology (S.P.I.R.I.T. http://www.spinvestigations.org/), a paranormal research laboratory dedicated to scientific-based research and the design of detection and data recording equipment and systems for the environmental aspects of paranormal phenomena. David is also Co-Director of the New Jersey Paranormal Resource Group, an investigative organization which performs investigations and field experimentation. He is the author of Paranormal Technology, Understanding the Science of Ghost Hunting, hailed as a new paradigm in paranormal field manuals.
David has been involved in the paranormal research field since 1976. He is a professional member of the Rhine Research Center, the Audio Engineering Society, The International Frequency Sensor Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. David’s background as an audio and acoustic engineer, police officer, and current studies in physics and Quantum Mechanics makes him a unique contributor to paranormal research. David designs and builds much of the specialized equipment used on investigations with input from other team members and lab associates, as well as input from other researchers in the field. David prides himself in being able to find natural sources for many of the claims he investigates, but has the knowledge and ability to analyze and theorize about the phenomena that defies rational explanations. He ascribes to the belief that the duty of science is to investigate the unexplained, not explain the uninvestigated.
David lives in northwestern New Jersey with his wife and son.
His website is http://www.spinvestigations.org/.
