Hour 1: Dr. Kirby Surprise
Joining Amerika Now during the first hour is Dr. Kirby Surprise, discussing his research and recent book, Synchronicity: The Art of Coincidence, Choice, and Unlocking Your Mind.
Are our brains predicated on the ability to detect patterns out of the morass of sensory stimuli we take in at every given moment? According to Surprise, you can awaken your innate and ancient ability to detect synchronistic patterns in your life and surroundings and unravel their meaning by explaining how our brains are, indeed, predicated on this ability to detect patterns. And not only can we detect these synchronistic events all around us, but we should, through the participation in the manisfestation of synchronistic phenomena through vigilance and focused attention. Dr. Surprise urges all of us to change our reality by changing our relationship to synchronicity and will offer practical guidelines—and even a set of seven games—to put synchronicity to work in your life.
The experience of meaningful coincidences is universal. They are reported in every culture, every belief system, and every time period. Synchronicity examines the evidence for the human influence on the meaningfulness of events, and the way the modern computational model of the mind predicts how we create meaning. Dr. Surprise will focus on how you can learn to use your ability to create synchronistic events, discover how your mind creates the reality you experience, unlock your brain’s vast resources of creativity and connectivity, and change from living as a separate being to living as a part of the unified whole.

Dr. Surprise received his Doctorate in Psychology in 2007 from the Institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco, and his Masters in Psychodynamic and Transpersonal Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 1988. Dr. Surprise received his license as a psychologist in 2009, and currently works in an advanced outpatient program for the state of California. The inspiration for his current writing comes from his lifelong experiences with synchronistic events and interests in psychology, metaphysics, philosophy, history, and science. Surprise is his original family name, and he has received more than a few interested comments on the coincidence of a book on synchronicity written by a psychologist named Dr. Surprise. He and his family currently live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Hour 2: Sophie Rose
Joining Amerika Now during the second hour is author Sophie Rose to discuss her book, The Way of the Heart: Teachings of Jeshua and Mary Magdalene.
Sophie Rose was born in France. She holds a Master’s Degree in Law but mostly worked in marketing until 1999, when she moved to the United States. She began her spiritual quest in 1998, practiced meditation with different teachers, and quickly became an avid meditator. Sophie was contacted by Jeshua and Mary Magdalene in February 2010. Her book, The Way of The Heart was “dictated” in 2011, during the silence of her meditations, and consists of 36 lessons. In the tradition of A Course in Miracles, Rose lays out the channeled series of spiritual messages as a blueprint for connecting with one’s soul, with God, and with others in a compassionate, loving way.
A new consciousness is needed in today’s world of chaos and self-destruction. According to the divine teachers, the greatest challenge is to undo the influence of the ego and accept Oneness as God, as the linking of souls outside space and time, and as the ultimate truth.
Sophie is also a contributing author of The Sacred Shift, Co-Creating Your Future, an anthology featuring experts from spiritual and practical fields. She is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition and has always favored a direct experience of spirituality.
