November 23, 2013 – Archives/Pod Casts Hour 1 – Hour 2 – Hour 3
Hour 1: Barry Ernest
Joining the show during the first hour is investigative reporter and author Barry Ernest, who will be discussing his book The Girl on the Stairs: The Search for a Missing Witness to the JFK Assassination.
It’s been 50 years since the assassination of JFK, and we’re still searching for closure on “Who killed Kennedy?”
A silent witness is heard at last. It required 35 years of painstakingly diligent searching to uncover Victoria Adams, a key witness to the JFK assassination, and her story. Adams was on the staircase of the Texas School Book Depository at the precise moment that Lee Harvey Oswald, according to the Warren Commission, was making his escape–yet she saw no one. Badgered by the Commission and fearing for her life, Adams vanished into obscurity. At long last, her story has been brought to light and forces us to reconsider one of the most controversial assassinations of the 20th century.
Barry Ernest is an author and former investigative journalist. He is a graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh with a degree in Journalism and Communications. Ernest worked for the York (PA) Sunday News and the Syracuse (NY) Herald-Journal and Sunday Herald-American. He is a former press secretary and director of communications for the state of Pennsylvania.
Passionate about finding the truth in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Ernest began his search for Victoria Adams in 1967. He frequently lectures on the topic and is the recipient of the 2011 Mary Ferrell Pioneer Award, a national honor presented for a lifetime of searching for the truth in the JFK assassination. The result of Barry’s lengthy efforts culminated in his book, The Girl on the Stairs.
His study of this subject over the years has led him to the witnesses of Dallas as well as the documents of the National Archives. He has appeared on numerous radio talk shows and, ironically enough, has been featured in countless newspaper interviews. He also provided research and investigative services for several noted authors on the assassination, including David Lifton, Penn Jones, Jr., and Harold Weisberg, the latter considered to have been the leading authority on this case.
Mr. Ernest now lives with his wife in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he continues to research, write, and maintain his blog while answering the many questions he is asked about the assassination and its missing witness.

Hour 2: Seth Farber
Writer, social critic, dissident psychologist, visionary, activist, and co-founder of the Network Against Coercive Psychiatry, Dr. Seth Farber, joins Amerika Now during the second hour. Dr. Farber will be discussing his newest and most important book, The Spiritual Gift of Madness: The Failure of Psychiatry and the Rise of the Mad Pride Movement.
Dr. Farber’s book is a life-line for many of the so-called “mentally ill” – schizophrenics, bipolars, and other victims of the mental health system. It tells the history of the mental patients’ liberation movement and the recent rise of the Mad Pride movement, and includes interviews with political and spiritual leaders of the Mad movement. Dr. Farber attempts to develop and expand upon the theory first formulated by RD Laing that “psychotics” are spiritual pioneers, and views the “mad” as constituting the spiritual vanguard of what could become a new Great Awakening rooted in the 1960s counter-culture.
Dr. Farber has appeared on Coast to Coast, Red Ice, Alex Jones, and Gary Null among others. In the early 1990s, he co-founded the Network Against Coercive Psychiatry to oppose the crimes committed by psychiatry. He also documented the rise of the psychiatric-pharmaceutical-industrial complex.
While Dr. Farber strongly supports the battle against coercive psychiatry, he does not think it gets to the heart of the issue, which is the necessity for humanity to take the next step in our spiritual evolution. The symptoms of our insanity keep proliferating–from never-ending war to environmental disasters. In every direction we turn, we confront the specter of catastrophe. Attempts to appeal to people’s sense of rationality cannot stem the tide of destruction. We need to appeal to humanity’s deepest yearning for redemption.
Dr. Farber believes that only a spiritual revival can enable us to summon the imagination to take the next step in our long process of spiritual evolution. And he believes that the “mad” are among those who can help us propagate a vision of a new messianic/utopian order based upon harmony and love.
Dr. Seth Farber is a writer, social critic, dissident psychologist (he received his doctorate in 1984), visionary, activist (in the human rights, Green and anti-war movements — and a supporter of animal rights) and co-founder of the Network Against Coercive Psychiatry (1988). His newest and most important was released in 2012, the The Spiritual Gift of Madness: The Failure of Psychiatry and the Rise of the Mad Pride Movement. (The Foreword is written by internationally renowned writer, feminist and human rights advocate, Kate Millett, author of Sexual Politics and the Loony Bin Trip).
Dr. Farber has had four books published previously, including a book on Jewish critics of Israel, and numerous essays and articles. A critic of the mental health system, he’s been a guest on many television and radio shows. His first book, Madness, Heresy and the Rumor of Angels: The Revolt Against the Mental Health System contained a foreword by Thomas Szasz. The publication of his memoir, Lunching with Lunatics: Adventures of a Renegade Psychologist, has been postponed until the time is propitious. Dr. Farber is also an editor of the pioneering scholarly review, The Journal of Mind and Behavior.

Hour 3: Bill Deane
Joining the show during the final is author and renowned journalist and investigative reporter, Bill Deane. Bill will be discussing the JFK assassination in light of his latest book, Smooth Criminal: A One Man American Crime Wave.
Friday, November 23, 2013, marked the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. But here we are, 50 years later, and we’re still asking the same question…Who killed Kennedy? And while most Americans no longer believe the single-shooter theory, many still aren’t willing to look closer to home for the answer.
Journalist and investigative reporter Bill Deane dared to look closer. He’s written an explosive book entitled Smooth Criminal: A One Man American Crime Wave in which he claims former president Kennedy may have been aware of a program that endorsed the release of hardened criminals to curb the threat of Communism.
Bill will discuss such topics as the FBI and CIA’s reluctance to go public following the JFK Dallas killing; the Tampa mobster Santo Trafficante death bed confession that put the pieces together; the mob working first on Castro’s side and then on the CIA’s killing machine; the single-gun theory fails as the mob admitted it had three men, an expendable Lee Harvey Oswald and two of their hit men shooting the president; why Oswald, a former CIA operative, was chosen to be a patsy; why Castro, the CIA, and the FBI knew of the impending assassination and nothing was said; why the assassination didn’t happen five weeks earlier in Chicago; and finally the consequences of the CIA’s extreme secrecy edict for the American public.
Bill Deane is a dedicated journalist and investigative reporter with 33 years’ experience as a writer and news assignment editor at both ABC and CBS. In addition, he served as news director in Denver and Rochester, New York, anchor at KYW Philadelphia, and Miami’s ABC TV affiliate. He’s a member of the Radio Television News Directors’ Association, New York Press Club, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and Society of Professional Journalists. He’s also the winner of many awards, including an Edward R. Murrow for Best Coverage of a Major Breaking News Event: The Assassination of Yitzhak Rabin.
