The Story of Louis Charles and his Experience with the Jesus Religion<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been searching for over thirty years. \u00a0My only desire has been to know God,
\ntruth, and equally important, who I am. \u00a0In 1986, I began pouring through scriptures
\ntrying to make sense of it all. \u00a0Soon, six years had passed and I found myself a teacher,
\nelder and at times a minister of healing at a local Christian church. \u00a0I saw and
\nexperienced amazing things, such as people healed of sickness; spiritual gifts and
\nforeknowledge displayed openly; and powerful manifestations of God’s Spirit upon
\npeople physically and mentally. \u00a0However, after several more years I knew inside me it
\nwas time to leave the Christian church, and no one could understand why. \u00a0At the
\ntime, even I did not know why. \u00a0Today, many former church “friends” still do not
\nunderstand why. \u00a0Through eyes of judgment, they choose to see me and my family as
\nbeing “lost.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now, it is easy for me to look back and see why I was to move on in my spiritual
\njourney. \u00a0I had become a very, religious person. \u00a0Religion can be defined as the false,
\nman-made idea of who or what God must be. \u00a0Often, such a religion injects fear into
\nfollowers for purposes of controlling them. \u00a0Consequently, the truth is not often found
\nwithin the walls of religion. \u00a0I thought I knew God, because I knew Bible scriptures.
\nDid I really know truth or did I simply learn too well the beliefs others had taught me?
\nWas I willing to let go of all doctrines and be willing for God…Spirit to show me the
\ntruth of who God is and who I am? \u00a0Did I really understand the scriptures and the
\nmeanings behind the sayings Jesus spoke? \u00a0Would I lay scriptures down and trust this
\nsame God to teach me, by the voice of Spirit alone?<\/p>\n

It is safe to say that I have a very good perspective from which to write. \u00a0As a former
\nteacher and elder, I understand various Christian teachings of the scriptures quite
\nwell. \u00a0For years, I taught the very doctrines many believe and hold true to today. \u00a0I had
\nbelieved I could prove to you these ideas were true based upon lining up one verse of
\nscripture with another verse. \u00a0Even though I was a very good lawyer, making my
\nargument with a book of law known as the Bible, it did not mean I was correct in
\nunderstanding or knowing truth. \u00a0When I began hearing for myself the truth that was
\nalready within me, it challenged the very doctrines I had defended whole-heartedly. \u00a0It
\nhas taken many years for these fearful ideas to be undone in me, and still today I seek
\nto know the answers…the truth. \u00a0Jesus (Yeshua<\/span><\/span><\/em>) knew the truth and we can, too.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Jesus Religion<\/span><\/span><\/em> book and website seek to share some of my thoughts and ideas to
\nhelp others open up to considering that perhaps they too had the wool pulled over
\ntheir eyes by much of Christianity. \u00a0Today, I have found peace…more peace than I
\never thought I knew as a former Fundamentalist Christian trapped within doctrines,
\nhaving succumbed to the fears of others. \u00a0I challenge you the seeker to reconsider
\nwhat you know. \u00a0Ask yourself the tough questions and be not afraid of the answers
\nyou might receive. \u00a0The litmus test for your journey is simple: identify the areas where
\nfear is present in your life and face them. \u00a0Begin searching for the truth already deep
\nwithin you. \u00a0The man we know as Jesus, had a freeing, spiritual message and it is
\ntimeless. <\/span><\/span>– Louis Charles<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
