\u2018Tis the season to be jolly, right?\u00a0 Not if you\u2019re one of the millions of Americans who now face the Obamacare \u201cNightmare Before Christmas.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

There\u2019s no amount of garland, mistletoe, or holiday lights that can make up for the bad news many Americans are receiving about their healthcare insurance.\u00a0 Just in time for holiday celebrations, many are learning their insurance coverage has been cancelled, their physician is no longer included under their new policy, or they\u2019re going to be paying more for less coverage.<\/p>\n

Even many of those who supported Obamacare are now finding themselves without coverage according to the New York Times<\/a>, and \u201c\u2026they may have to pay more to get comparable coverage, if they can find it.\u201d\u00a0 The article goes on to say \u201cFor many of them, that is likely to mean they will no longer have access to a wide network of doctors and a range of plans tailored to their needs.\u00a0 And many of them are finding that if they want to keep their premiums from rising, they will have to accept higher deductible and co-pay costs or inferior coverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

It would appear many Americans are getting a lump of coal in their stockings this holiday season.<\/p>\n

While many are trying to come to terms with higher premiums or lost coverage, there are those who literally are struggling to sign up for insurance in order to beat the mandate deadline.\u00a0 For them, it\u2019s going to take more than a \u201cMiracle on 34th<\/sup> Street\u201d<\/a> to get coverage\u2026hours and hours trying to get onto the troubled healthcare exchange followed by hours spent on hold on the phone, only to be disconnected and have to start all over again.\u00a0 It\u2019s enough to make anyone scream, \u201cBah Humbug!\u201d<\/p>\n

But wait, there\u2019s more!\u00a0 Like the gift that keeps on giving, there\u2019s more to Obamacare.\u00a0 It turns out someone is actually going to have to pay for all those benefits touted by the administration.\u00a0 Yes, Virginia, making health insurance available to some 30 million uninsured Americans, adding minors to parents\u2019 policies, and covering those who are already ill comes with a hefty price tag indeed.\u00a0 Ho, Ho, Ho!<\/p>\n

Add in the economic uncertainty of Obamacare and how healthcare under the Affordable Care Act will remain in flux until at least 2016, and it\u2019s no wonder so many Americans are beginning to question whether \u201cIt\u2019s a Wonderful Life\u201d<\/a> after all under Obamacare.\u00a0 Those sentiments were certainly reflected on Black Friday when spending was down across the country.\u00a0 It\u2019s difficult to part with hard-earned money when you\u2019re not sure how you\u2019re going to pay for Tiny Tim\u2019s rehab or how much extra is going to have to be forked over to Scrooge for those new insurance premiums.<\/p>\n

Like the Grinch who stole Christmas, Obamacare has put a damper on this holiday season.\u00a0 It remains to be seen, though, whether this Grinch finds his heart.<\/p>\n
