Michael Tellinger of South Africa is fighting for transparency in banking by challenging the global financial system in a landmark lawsuit.<\/p>\n
In what is being called an historic, landmark case challenging the global financial system, author, researcher and scientist Michael Tellinger recently filed a notice of motion against Standard Bank of South Africa accusing the bank of \u201cunlawful and unconstitutional activity.\u201d \u00a0Tellinger also served notice on the Reserve Bank and Minister of Finance as well.\u00a0 Tellinger\u2019s suit, CCT 28\/12, has now made its way to the Constitutional Court, and takes aim at the heart of the banking system.\u00a0 Although Tellinger chose Standard Bank, he says \u201cultimately it is the other banks as well,\u201d and hopes this case will bring light to the myriad of \u201cdeceitful\u201d activities practiced as part of the overall banking system worldwide.<\/p>\n
Tellinger decided to take on South Africa\u2019s largest bank after he realized, during the course of his research into the origins of humanity, that money just \u201csuddenly appeared.\u201d \u00a0As a result, he began wondering about the origins of money itself, and how it became so intrinsic in society.\u00a0 Upon further investigation, Tellinger began realizing that it\u2019s just a small number of families that control the supply of money worldwide, citing the Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and Morgans as examples.\u00a0 He hopes his suit will redress the imbalance that has taken place by these banking elite.<\/p>\n
Tellinger\u2019s premise for his suit against Standard Bank is based on their \u201cunscrupulous activities,\u201d which he believes are also practiced routinely by banks worldwide.\u00a0 The lawsuit is 1,100 pages of actual case law, evidence, and arguments defining the laws, acts, and bills that are broken on a daily basis by banks, including the Reserve Bank, all under the \u201cwatchful eye of the Minister of Finance,\u201d who Tellinger claims is aware of these behaviors but has \u201cdone nothing to prevent this from happening.\u201d\u00a0 Tellinger believes this is \u201cpure exploitation of every South African citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition, Tellinger believes that banks are fueling inflation by issuing and printing money without having the assets to back those monies.\u00a0 Many in the financial industry argue that this is how the system was built, doing business this way for decades, and that leveraging is just part of standard operating procedure.\u00a0 But Tellinger argues that just because the banks do this \u201cdoes not mean it is right.\u201d\u00a0 He has had several meetings with shareholders of the Reserve Bank and states that he has been \u201camazed\u201d at some of the revelations as to how the Reserve Bank works and how \u201cabsolutely deceitful the activities are.\u201d<\/p>\n
Using the bank loan process as an example of how banks create money out of \u201cthin air,\u201d Tellinger says that when someone applies for a loan, the banks don\u2019t actually have the physical cash in their vaults to give.\u00a0 Instead, they \u201cpunch some numbers into a computer and magically just create money that is not backed by anything.\u201d\u00a0 This process of issuing money as interest-bearing loans is akin to \u201ccounterfeiting\u201d according to Tellinger, and if ordinary citizens tried to do anything like this, they would be prosecuted for it.<\/p>\n
Tellinger obtained much of his information from the Supreme Court of South Africa, which he has been to on three occasions arguing against the \u201chighest-paid lawyers money can buy.\u201d\u00a0 His case has now moved to the Constitutional Court \u201cbecause it\u2019s not just about unlawful activity of banks on a daily basis\u2026it\u2019s also about breaking and breeching constitutional rights.\u201d\u00a0 Tellinger says this suit is about his and other South African citizens\u2019 \u201cconstitutional rights,\u201d which he believes the banks are breaking on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
Support for Tellinger\u2019s initiative continues to grow, especially among those who have researched this topic for themselves and \u201cfigured out what the banks are doing.\u201d \u00a0As Tellinger points out, \u201cSome are really smart lawyers and advocates who have offered their work pro bono, for free, because they realize that what is going on is absolutely wrong.\u201d\u00a0 New ERA, or New Economic Rights Alliance<\/a>, is one such group that is bringing together support for \u201cthose who have been abused by banks.\u201d\u00a0 Their mission is to support victims of corporations that put profit ahead of human rights.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s all about economic freedom, economic liberty,\u201d says Tellinger.\u00a0 Citing Nelson Mandela\u2019s release and the fight for political freedom in South Africa, he believes it is now time to end \u201ceconomic slavery.\u201d<\/p>\n Tellinger realizes he is going up against a global system that has been in place for decades \u201csince the creation of the Federal Reserve system on Jekyll Island,\u201d he says.\u00a0 These are privately owned institutions that answer to \u201cnobody,\u201d as he states.\u00a0 Tellinger\u2019s suit also includes the government, stating that the Minister of Finance knows banks are breaking the law.\u00a0 He says that the Minister of Finance and the government are \u201csupposed to be servants of the people,\u201d and believes the Minister of Finance should have intervened on the behalf of citizens against the banks.<\/p>\n Ultimately, Tellinger believes his case will challenge the Constitutional Court to see just how constitutional it really is, and if they will rule in favor of the people and \u201cstop supporting through the legal system the banks that have been exploiting the system.\u201d<\/p>\n For too long, the banking giants have been untouchable, especially by common citizens.\u00a0 Tellinger\u2019s case is important in that it allows the \u201ccommon man\u201d direct access to a constitutional court.\u00a0 Everyone could be affected by this case, because if Tellinger is successful, the repercussions will be widespread, and the global banking industry may be facing a radical overhaul through major public policy shifts and the changing of laws governing the banks.<\/p>\n For more information about this landmark case, see www.thebigcase.co.za<\/a>.<\/p>\n
