Albert Einstein is often credited with having stated \u201cThe definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.\u201d\u00a0 Although Einstein said \u201cI probably didn\u2019t say that\u201d and there\u2019s no tangible evidence to support the connection, it\u2019s still a great quote and widely applicable.<\/p>\n

Regardless of the source of the quote and using that standard, the process by which we conduct elections in this country could be seen as certifiable.\u00a0 Election after election voters go to the polls choosing one or the other party into power only to be greatly disappointed once again when nothing ever really changes, except maybe to worsen. Perhaps it\u2019s time to try something different–perhaps it\u2019s time for political evolution at all levels.<\/p>\n

We know neither party (Democrat and Republican) represents the populace of this country. We also know that both parties give political favors to those from whom they receive the majority of their campaign contributions (the wealthy one percent and corporations).\u00a0 Both parties have repeatedly demonstrated allegiance to these contributors and not their constituents, yet time and time again we continue to support the process, hoping for a change.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s time for real political evolution and change. We need to admit that conducting the same actions over and over again isn’t working, and we need to quit wasting our votes on corrupt political parties that serve their own agendas. We need to seek out those who shun the big money and its subsequent corruption. It\u2019s time for Americans to stand up and take back control of the country and its destiny.<\/p>\n

A recent poll indicated that more Americans identify themselves as independents than as Democrats or Republicans.\u00a0 It’s time to act on that independence and become responsible for the changes we all want to see in this country!<\/p>\n
